I was able to finish the game w/o the **** scene, so IDK if that was a glitch or what and I honestly, at this point, could care less! I have never been so disappointed! I except more than this from BF! They obviously need to either hire someone to test their games from start to finish or let the people who beta test play the entire game. I wrote to BF and gave them the 'what-for'! Guess what? NO ****! So, I did what I always do when I'm really upset.

Today, there was something I was supposed to do that has to do with goblets and couldn't do it, so came to forums to read there was yet ANOTHER update and had to uninstall and reinstall the game yet again! Then, I played the game some more and looked at the so-called smart guide for something and saw I was supposed to play a **** in the gas station and went there. I expected much more from BF! Bought the game the second it came out and guess what? Yep, had to wait until the next day for an update to get the game to work! Then there was a problem with the 'smart guide' (a big pain in the rump) and had to get help to fix that problem. Had this been a stand-alone game, my opinion would be higher, but being a follow-up to RTR and Dire Grove just sets the bar too high. The acting isn't bad overall there aren't any really cringe-worthy moments anyway.
The interaction with live characters is a little weird at first, since most games of this type don't even have any real animation, but you get used to it.
The atmosphere is very immersive, and even though it does feel like you're being led around by the nose every once in a while, the story did have a few surprises and was quite interesting overall. That said, I really did like the game, and will most likely play through it again. And after the awesomeness that was RTR and the almost as awesome Dire Grove, the directive gameplay in this one feels almost like a step back. It's taking the hidden-object aspect of the game to the extreme. The Objective driven gameplay really turns what should have been an awesome puzzle game into a mediocre scavenger hunt. I'd much rather pick something up and carry it around for three hours and then suddenly have an "Aha! So that's how I use that!" moment then being told that it's now okay to go find all the goblets four hours after you've first seen them all. But on the other other hand, there are certain things lying around that are obviously objects of interest, but you can't even click on them. On the other hand, this is a relatively HUGE game and it would be very easy to get off track, so it's nice to have a little direction. If you don't want me to go to a certain place, lock the door! Make me find a way out. Find all the crayons.but don't go outside! That ticked me off.

This game is almost a series of little mini games. For me there was a lot of back and forth and carrying stuff around for long periods because it sometimes took me awhile to figure out how I was supposed to use something. The thing about RTR though is that you're basically left to your own devices. I LOVED Return to Ravenherst.still the best MCF game IMO.and I keep looking for that again. Just finished the whole thing.and I have mixed feelings. But I thought I'd limit my comments there to the topic of the thread, and expand the rest here. The first part of this is a repost of my own comments over on the "Hand Holding" thread, so no, you're not having deja vu.
